Shafiq provides Health & Wellness services and conducts advocacy for newcomers at AsylumWorks. With over a decade of experience as a legal professional and human rights advocate in Afghanistan, he has focused on advancing the justice sector, fostering institutional transparency, and combating human trafficking. In 2017, he established a national volunteer organization to aid war survivors and other vulnerable citizens. Evacuated to the United States in March 2022, Shafiq joined MAV as a project manager and later REACTDC as an asylum application specialist. He holds an LL.M in International Law and Human Rights, an LLB and BSL in law, and a diploma in National Security and International Relations. He is fluent in Persian, English, Hindi, Urdu, and Pashto.
