Ismail helps Afghan survivors impacted by combat in the DMV area by partnering with medical and religious organizations, raising awareness of the target population, and coordinating community programs with partner organizations. He is passionate about helping underserved communities and has volunteered at humanitarian nonprofit organizations back home and in the States. Ismail joined AsylumWorks with several years of professional experience in linguistics, legal aid, project coordination, administration, and finance. He worked for 8 years on US-funded projects in Afghanistan before being evacuated by the U.S. government. Once in the U.S., he started working in the social services field and served as a Case Aide with LSSNCA prior to joining AsylumWorks. Ismail received a B.A. in Law from Jahan University and is fluent in Pashto, Dari, Arabic, Urdu, and English.
