Christie oversees the organization’s professional development programs, which guide clients in pursuing their desired careers in the U.S. She remains drawn to education and employment for the joy of witnessing others share their passions, pursue their interests, and connect to their community as leaders and experts. Christie comes to AsylumWorks with over a decade of experience working alongside refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants. She holds a B.A. in Global Studies, an M.A. in International Education Policy, and a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management, all from public Maryland universities. She is also a certified English teacher who loves writing curriculum. Christie admires her many clients who speak more than one language and is eagerly learning Spanish and Portuguese herself.
