Employment & Education Program Internship, Fall 2026

ABOUT US

AsylumWorks (soon to be Arrived) is a Washington, DC-based nonprofit that partners with immigrants, their families, and the broader community to create pathways to safety, stability, and opportunity. Founded in 2016, we have provided direct services to more than 4,000 individuals from over 50 countries. In summer 2026, AsylumWorks will officially change its name to Arrived — a change that reflects the organization’s growth over the past decade, from serving primarily asylum seekers to supporting immigrants at every stage of the immigration process. Our work spans across three core programs: 1) Health & Wellness services to connect newcomers to the physical and emotional care they need; 2) Economic Mobility services to help job seekers find and maintain living-wage employment that aligns with their skills and goals; and 3) Legal Navigation services to help immigrants understand their rights and access the legal protection they need.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION

AsylumWorks is seeking a volunteer (unpaid) intern to provide practical assistance to our Employment & Education program for a minimum of 15 hours per week during the Fall 2026 semester, enhancing resources for clients related to the job search. This opportunity is ideal for a driven undergraduate or graduate student seeking experience in nonprofit work, economic mobility, community engagement, education, employment support, and resource development. This internship will allow participants to connect meaningfully with AsylumWorks staff and support services for AsylumWorks clients. AsylumWorks recognizes that pursuing a degree is a pivotal time for students to learn about their professional goals and develop the skills needed to enter the professional sphere. The intern will have the opportunity to propose a related individual project that can add additional value to their professional portfolio outside of the internship duties.
