U.S. immigration law is a highly technical form of law. Successful asylum applicants must proactively participate in legal proceedings. AsylumWorks provides the following legal navigation services to support these newcomers.
Brief Legal Screenings
Newcomers identifying immigration legal needs can request a brief legal screening. Program staff work with clients to determine legal needs and identify appropriate action(s).
Know Your Rights Training
Program staff can provide basic legal education via individual meetings, seminars, online sessions, or small group workshops. Staff work with newcomers to understand the immigration legal process, legal terminology, and policy changes, among other needs, so that newcomers understand their rights and responsibilities as asylum seekers.
Referrals To Low-Cost And Pro Bono Legal Representation
If a client needs an attorney, AsylumWorks can connect clients to a vetted network of free legal service providers and low-cost law firms. Please note that AsylumWorks does not provide in-house immigration legal services at this time.
