Walaa Jumma brings extensive experience in programmatic strategy, development & facilitation, with a keen focus on community building. She has dedicated her time to serving and utilizing her skills to work alongside refugees and asylum seekers in navigating systematic barriers and accessing opportunities. Prior to joining Asylum Works, Walaa worked as a Civil Rights Analyst with the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and Program Consultant with USCCB. It was there that she developed an Emergency Education Curriculum for Humanitarian Parolees. Walaa received her Master’s from the University of Chicago in Social Work, Social Policy & Global Social Development. She is fluent in Arabic & English.
